For those who love nature, with hundreds of local trees and young coffee plants, Three Wooded Acres, 8km from Madikeri in Coorg, is amazingly green and serene. Look forward to lazing in your own private patio in front of your room, over a cup of brew of your choice, read a book or bond with family and friends over one of many board games from the Library.

The afternoons at Three Wooded Acres come alive with loud musical Cicadas. The glittering glow worms at night are a sight not to be missed. Enjoy the warmth of the bonfire sitting around the low rock wall. For bird lovers there are a lot of birds to be spotted early mornings and evenings including a family of Hornbills and Paradise flycatchers. Take a leisurely stroll through the pathways or hike up to the nearby Nishani Betta peak or the Koot Holey Lake. Or experience the calmness of the Bhadrakali temple and its dense Deverakadu forest.

In the small library you will also find an interesting collection of old and new books and maps on Coorg including a copy of the first survey map of Coorg in 1816.


Accommodations

Indian Aspen & Jackfuit: 2 rooms with attic spaces

In a very quiet, private cottage in the woods are 2 rooms to choose from. Each room has a large bed, and a very attractive attic space with an additional bed so a family of 4 can easily be comfortable in there. A common verandah connects both rooms, and there are individual sitouts for both as well.

Red Cedar: A single room cottage

Deeper in the woods is the newest cottage, with mud plastered walls, Mangalore tiles and a huge canopy that provides a huge variety of birds a  home throughout the day.  This can sleep a small family of 2 + a kid.

Pricing, per couple

Pricing is per couple, seriously all inclusive, including taxes. This includes everything at the property : all the meals, unlimited tea/coffee/non-packaged juices and snacks whenever your tummy grumbles, walks and treks around the property, bonfire, use of the library etc.

Checkin/checkout is at 11am. Feel free to stay with us longer – we might ask for the room in case there’s a guest coming in after you the same day.

Kids upto 10 years of age are our guests at no charge. Pets are welcome (for a small charge) provided they stay off the linen/furniture, and you can ensure their safety and that of other guests around.

We offer long stay discounts and special pricing for multi-week stays. There’s also a discount for seniors, as well as women-only groups of 3 or more. Do write in for more.


Getting There

Its about 260 kms from Bangalore depending on where you start from. And 8kms from Madikeri.

It takes between 5hrs 20mins with one break, and 6hrs 30mins with plenty, to get there.

The route

Bangalore-Mandya-Srirangapatna (slick 4 lane all the way) – turn towards Ranganthittu and take the bypass to Hunsur Road (20 kms of backroad) – Hunsur – Periyapatna – Kushalnagara – Madikeri. The roads are done up recently and smooth all the way!

From Madikeri – head past Raja’s Seat – towards Club Mahindra.
