11 villages came together to conserve and revive 9,000+ acres of grasslands and forest. Not only did the grass and flora return, so did water, and the birds and animals, and the ability of the the place to host 90,000 sheep annually for controlled, managed grazing!

This is a story that gives hope and joy, and a landscape that is once again beautiful and bountiful. 

The Kalpavalli Tree Growers’ Cooperative which manages the KCCA has partnered with Linger for to welcome responsible travellers at this wonderful place. We look forward to hosting you here and sharing the stories that make this a place worth visiting and learning from.

At the Location

At Bush Camp, Kalpavalli, there’s plenty of opportunities to spend time with nature – observing, hiking and soaking it in!

The Watchtower Hike takes you through restored grasslands upto an old watchtower. 9kms in all through a rejuvenated landscape. Moderate.

The Hill Top Birding Walk, 3kms and slow and easy, observing the birds and learning, learning, learning…

The Ghati Madugu Trek. Start at Guttur madugu and walk across the stream. 10kms – moderate.

Great birding’s guaranteed. And very very likely that you’ll see blackbucks. Leopards? Hmmmm, who knows…

Accommodations & Tariffs

Private hut-rooms

2 large thatched platform sleeping areas with 2 comfortable beds each.

This is at Rs.2,450/- per person per night on a twin sharing basis with a 11am checkin/checkout.

Dormitories

The above huts can be reconfigured for 6-10 persons each with single mattresses, for upto 25 people overall at the property. This is at an introductory price of Rs. 1650/- per person per night with a min 6 people. Checkin/checkout times are 11am.

  • The prices include all meals, tea, buttermilk, etc, walks, hikes, bonfire. Transport to the property from the park is at actuals in the pickup or jeep.
  • Extended stay – checking by 9am and checkout around 4-5pm at 35% more so you can plan a whole weekend at the campsite, and avoid the city traffic on the way in/out.
  • Kids 5-12 are at 50% of tariff. Those under 5 accompanied by adults are at 750/- each.
  • School/educational trips are at a special price – please connect with our team.

Getting there

Take the Hyderabad Highway, turn into the road opp the KIA factory.

If you have a car that can do mild off roading and has ok ground clearance, go all the way. Else park at the farm school and switch to the farm jeep or pickup (you’ll have to let us know in advance).
